1% of 2021 Population & Housing Census Are Non-Ghanaians

General Report Volumes of 3A, 3B, and 3C of the 2021 Population and Housing Census

…68.6% of the Population Have insurance Coverage

It has come to light that, 1% (294,341) of the enumerated  2021 population and housing census are non-Ghanaians.

Per the results of the census, nine out of the 10 non-Ghanaian population (270,838-92.0%) are from ECOWAS countries.

This information came to public attention when Ghana Statistical Service released the General Report Volumes of 3A, 3B, and 3C of the 2021 Population and Housing Census in Accra.

Government Statistician, Professor Samuel Annim said one out of every eight (80.8%) married persons had not registered their marriages.

He said more women than men are separated, divorced, or widowed. Majority of persons, he said, were born in localities where they were enumerated with a higher population for males (73.6%) than females(71.6%).

Professor Annim disclosed that approximately two-thirds (68.6%) of the population had health insurance coverage with higher coverage for females (72.6%) than males (64.5%).
