All set for 2021 Koforidua Marathon on Saturday

2021 Koforidua Marathon

Organizers of the 2021 edition of the Koforidua Marathon in collaboration with the Ghana Athletics Association (GAA) have confirmed that this year’s event would come off Saturday, December 11, 2021.

Ansoff Marketing and the Koforidua Marathon Foundation (KMF) being the main organizers of the event have collaborated with GAA to host this year’s event.

The first edition saw Ismael Fialor and Sakat Lariba crowned champions of the event. This year as well promises to be more exciting bringing on board some top athletes all over Ghana to battle it out for the ultimate prize.

The second edition of the Koforidua Marathon would be supported by Mr Michael Okyere Baafi, who doubles as the Deputy Minister for Trade and Industry and Member of Parliament for New Juaben South Constituency.

According to the Managing Director for Ansoff Marketing Consult and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of KMF, Mr Kwabena Bediako Antwi-Dako, the organizers of the event really prepared towards the 2021 Koforidua Marathon event and their expectations.

“My outfit has been working on the event for the past months and I am also ably assisted by Edmund Boateng, the Sales and Marketing Manager for Ansoff Marketing Consult and the Koforidua Marathon Foundation, and playing a key role in the organisation of the event,”.

“We, as organisers are hoping that at the end of this year’s marathon that will cover some 42km distance, talents will be unearthed and nurtured to represent Ghana at continental marathon competitions and games.” he said


Ismael Fialor and Sakat Lariba were crowned the 2020 Koforidua Marathon champions after they won the 42.190 kilometres distance race to mark the maiden edition.

The Marathon saw 213 Athletes both male and female from Volta Region, Ashanti Region, Eastern Region, Central Region, Northern Region and Greater Accra partaking for an ultimate prize.
