‘Sika Gari’ queen Nana Agradaa fined GHS36k, GHS10k for different charges

Patience Asiedua popularly known as Nana Agradaa has been fined a sum of GHS36,000 after pleading guilty to operating a television station without a license.

It can be recalled that on Tuesday, April 20, 2021, a joint team of officers from the Ghana Police Service and operatives of the National Security shut down Kasoa-based Thunder TV after storming the premises.

The station owned by Nana Agradaa was subsequently dragged to court and charged with operating without a valid license contrary to section 110 of the Electronic transaction act 2008, act 772.

In addition, Nana Agradaa was accused of Charlatanic advertisement (Sika Gari) contrary to section 137 of the criminal offences Act, 1960.

Although she initially pleaded not guilty to both charges, the self-acclaimed powerful fetish prior to her arrest has today, June 16, 2021 had a change of heart.

At a Circuit Court presided over by Mr. Emmanuel Essandoh in Accra, Nana Agradaa has pleaded guilty.

She has as a result been fined a sum of GHS36,000 for count one, operating TV without a license. If she fails to pay, she will serve a three-year jail term in hard labour.

On count 2, for the offence of Charlatanic advertisement (Sika Gari), the court sentenced her to a fine of GHc10,000. In the case of a default, she will serve a year in prison.
