The national youth wing of the National Democratic Congress will on Thursday, February 10, 2022 stage a demonstration christened ‘Yentua Demonstration’.
The February 10 demonstration in Accra, according to the organizers is the beginning of a nationwide protest to be staged across the country.
The rationale behind the demonstration, George Opare Addo, the National Youth organizer of the NDC said is to give backing to the members of the minority group in parliament who are fighting at the peril of their lives to stop Akufo Addo and Dr. Bawumia administration from foisting its unpopular e-levy tax down the throats of Ghanaians.
Speaking at a news conference in Accra, he said, the demonstration is also to bring to Government’s attention and demand that the pain of university students at the mercy of UTAG strike comes to an end.
The February 10 demonstration, the Youth Organizer of the NDC said will highlight and demand the gratuities of NABCO trainees and other outstanding arrears owed young people on various government platforms are paid immediately.
The NDC-inspired demonstration this reporter has established is intended to push the Government to strengthen the weak cedi and the need for President Akufo Addo led administration to get rid of the nuisance taxes on petroleum products.
The objective of the demonstration, Opare Addo explained is to stand in for the citizens of Ghana who may not have the courage to man up to the intimidation tactics of the NPP Government and demand that the Akufo Addo and Dr. Bawumia administration free Ghanaians from the bondage of economic deprivation.
