MTN Ghana partnered with the Ministry of Gender, Children and Social Protection, Charter House, and Eve International Foundation to commemorate International Women’s Day, organizing impactful programs to promote gender equality and empower women in Ghana.
As part of the celebrations, the Gender Ministry led a health walk from Circle to its premises in Accra to raise awareness of women’s rights. Held under the theme “For All Women and Girls: Rights, Equality, Empowerment,” the event reinforced MTN Ghana’s commitment to advancing gender equality and advocating for the rights of women and girls.

Speaking after the walk, MTN Ghana’s Senior Manager for Corporate Communication, Georgina Fiagbenu, emphasized the need to break barriers that hinder women’s progress.
“This year’s theme resonates with MTN’s policy on equality and diversity. We are committed to breaking barriers that limit women in the workplace, achieving workforce gender equality by 2030, and ensuring gender pay parity as a key strategic measure,” she stated.
Minister for Gender, Children and Social Protection, Hon. Agnes Naa Momo Lartey, lauded women for their contributions to national development.
“Today’s walk is not just about exercise—it’s a powerful message that women are determined to have their voices heard, their efforts recognized, and their contributions properly rewarded,” she remarked.

At the National Women’s Summit and Expo, organized by Charter House, MTN’s Chief Enterprise Business Officer, Angela Mensah Poku, shared insights on balancing career growth with personal life. She also highlighted how women can leverage technology to scale their businesses globally.
Additionally, market women at Makola were introduced to MTN’s mCare service, which enables affordable healthcare access via mobile technology. At the Eve International Foundation event, held under the theme “Celebrating Women at the Grassroots of Economic Empowerment,” participants learned how mobile technology can enhance access to essential services.
