MTN Ghana Equips Student Leaders With Entrepreneurial Skills

As part of this year’s Global Y’ello Care Day MTN Ghana has taken another judicious step by organizing entrepreneurship training for some selected tertiary student leaders to help boost their entrepreneurship capacity.

The training which was held in collaboration with Africa Network for Entrepreneurs attracted Students leadership from Accra Technical University (ATU), the University of Ghana, Legon (UG), University of Health and Allied Sciences (UHAS), University of Development Studies (UDS), University of Cape Coast (UCC), and the University of Education, Winneba (UEW).

The company is of the firm belief that Ghanaian entrepreneurs are central to the promotion of inclusive economic growth such that it aims to support and help develop young entrepreneurs.

More so, this year’s programme dubbed: “Empowering Communities to Drive Economic Recovery” “focuses on empowering communities to drive economic recovery with a strong focus on capacity building.

MTN would focus on empowering and working with women, the youth, and the disabled during the employee volunteer programme.

Speaking at the training center in Accra, the Education Portfolio Advisor of MTN Ghana Ebenezer Terkper said having experienced the devastating effects of COVID -19; the company has taken it upon itself to explore innovative ways to help the communities with the recovery process.

We are developing the creative abilities of the youth to enable them to become economically independent in order to stand tall to contribute positively to nation-building.

With this support, every young person could be enterprising without necessarily having to look for a white-collar job since we are equipping them with entrepreneurial skills.

The Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Africa Network of Entrepreneurs, Ekow Mensah, also charged the students to make judicious use of the resources at their disposal.

Stressing the need for them to fully leverage the technological innovations defining this particular era to unleash their full potential.

More so, he challenged students to be innovative and time-conscious while also being creative in order to address global challenges.



MTN Y’ello care

During the 21-day-long staff volunteerism programme employees across MTN’s operations across the world are encouraged to take time off to physically get involved in activities that will uplift the communities they operate in. It also offers MTN staff the opportunity to brighten lives through this volunteer work.
