NDC States Reasons Why 2020 Presidential Result Is Flawed

Opposition National Democratic Congress(NDC) has presented a compelling evidence of over-voting, voting without verification, stuffing of ballot boxes, and other electoral infractions in New Patriotic Party’s (NPP) strongholds to Journalists to back its rejection of the 2020 presidential election.

The party also cited massaging of figures, reduction of votes of its presidential candidate, John Mahama, and increasing of votes of NPP’s candidate, Akufo-Addo in some polling stations culminating in what the NDC described as “fictional and flawed” election results declared by Jean Mensa led Electoral Commission in favor of the sitting president.

Sammy Gyamfi, the National Communication Officer of the NDC at a news conference in Accra also presented loads of its pink sheets and video evidence to back its claim.

In SDA primary “1” polling station, Chra in the Bono region, he said, the above-mentioned polling station had 49 people on the voters roll but in excess of 400 people voted in the said polling station.

This, over voting, already thump printed ballot papers with EC stump in the hands of NPP activists including other electoral malfeasance was replicated at Ejisu,Asawasi in the Ashanti region.

The widespread electoral malpractices according to Sammy Gyamfi was prevalent in NPP’s strongholds of Ashanti and the Eastern region.

The compelling evidence of non-collation of election results before decleration in Techiman south,Zabzugu,Tarkwa Nsuayem amon others including incidence of shooting and killing of NDC party agents in some polling station, the Communication Officer of the NDC says make the 2020 election not transparent, free and fair.

The reason, he said, NDC rejected the outcome of the just ended election. The Communication Officer of the NDC further said when the party accept the results of the presidential election it will be complicit in illegality.
Sammy Gyamfi said the party was doing an audit of the 2020 presidential and parliamentary elections, stressing that the party will then decide whether to proceed to court.

The Communications Officer of the NDC also said there was the need for both national and international audit of the December, 7 elections to ascertain the true winner of the election.

Dr. Justice Moses Aheto of the NDC collation team said based on the analysis of the Electoral Commission’s own gazetted presidential election results, Nana Akufo-Addo did win the closely contested presidential election.
