NEIP Launches Season 4 Of Presidential Pitch Competition

The National Entrepreneurship and Innovation Programme (NEIP) has launched its much-touted Season 4 Presidential pitch competition at a well-attended ceremony.
The Presidential pitch seeks to turn creative businesses by Ghanaian youth into global business giants with the support of the government.
The Presidential pitch according to Ms. Abigail Swad Laryea, the Deputy Chief Executive Officer of NEIP, is her outfit’s response to help curb the youth unemployment phenomenon in the country.
Speaking at the launch in Accra, she also said, the Presidential pitch is a deliberate, systematic, and integrated policy initiative by NEIP to boost the entrepreneurial ecosystem in the country.
The Presidential pitch business competition, Ms. Swad Laryea said is a revolution in the history of Ghana for young entrepreneurs and serves as an incubating platform for existing businesses and capital funding from the government.
The Presidential pitch, she added, seeks to turn creative businesses by Ghanaian youth into global business giants with support from the government.
The Deputy Chief Executive Officer of NEIP said this year’s competition would focus on agriculture, fintech and processing, tourism and the creative arts, TVET, and other economically viable areas.
This reporter has gathered that the competition is open to Ghanaian citizens who are 18 and 40 years at the time of application.
Applicants per available information must present businesses that are innovative, feasible, scalable, impactful, and have the potential to grow and expand beyond a small-scale operation.

Businesses should also have the potential to create jobs and contribute to Ghana’s economic growth, be able to address social, economic, and environmental challenges as well as have a positive impact on society.
Sources close to NEIP told capitalnewsonline.com that the business submitted must be the original work of the applicants and should not infringe on the intellectual property rights of others. The application portal is open via www.neip.gov.gh from June 30 to July 14, 2023.
