An impressive performance from Al Hilal has seen the team condemning Asante Kotoko to a 1-0 defeat at the Accra Sports Stadium today.
The Sudanese side played as a guest to the Porcupine Warriors this afternoon for the first of a two-legged clash in the second round of the preliminary stage of the 2020/2021 CAF Champions League.
Playing with a lot of quality on the matchday, Al Hilal had the better of crisis ridden Asante Kotoko that sacked head coach Maxwell Konadu just last week.
While the visitors could have scored at least two goals in the first half, they squandered their chances and went into the break on level terms with the home team.
After recess, Asante Kotoko had a few good moment but lacked the ability to cause real damaged to the opponent.
On the back of an overall poor performance from the Porcupine Warriors, Al Hilal managed to get the win courtesy of a strike from substitute Vinny Bongonga in the 77th minute.
With the results from today, Asante Kotoko has a mountain to climb in the second leg.
