Ghanaian giants Kumasi Asante Kotoko will face a daunting task on Wednesday, January 6, 2021, when they lock horns with Al Hilal Omdurman in the CAF Champions League.
The Ghana Premier League record holders last month hosted the Sudanese club at the Accra Sports Stadium for the first of the scheduled two-legged tie.
In what was a fiercely contested match, Asante Kotoko was the second best team on the day and ended up losing 1-0 to the opponent after the 90 minutes,
Determined to overturn the results in the second leg, the Kumasi-based club has traveled to Sudan and now preparing for the reverse fixture billed to be staged tomorrow.
Asante Kotoko will need to score two-unanswered goals or win with more goals to progress to the next phase of this season’s CAF Champions League.
Tagged as one of Africa’s top clubs in recent time, what Al Hilal has managed to do in the last couple of years makes them a tough side to face.
Their prowess was evident in the first leg when they totally outplayed and scored Asante Kotoko in Ghana.
While they are indeed beatable, the poor form of the Ghanaian side in the Ghana Premier League means that they will need to pull a rabbit out of a hat to have the better of Al Hilal.
The match set-up for fireworks will be played tomorrow with kick-off set at 15:00GMT.
