Asante Kotoko has shared the spoils with Medeama SC after playing out a 1-1 draw at the Akoon Park on Sunday afternoon.
The two giants were in action this afternoon to clear an outstanding match in the ongoing 2020/2021 Ghana Premier League season.
While the first half of the encounter produced a lot of action, neither side could score from the few chances that they created.
Having gone into the break on level terms, both Medeama SC and Asante Kotoko returned for the second half determined to get the vital equalizer.
Eventually, Asante Kotoko broke the deadlock in the 75th minute when striker Kwame Poku fired home a very good effort.
While the team hoped to go on to pick up the win, a late penalty converted by Mohammed Abass ensured that Medeama SC fought back to draw 1-1 at the end of the 90 minutes.
Courtesy of today’s result, Medeama SC stays 13th on the Ghana Premier League standings whiles Asante Kotoko move to 6th.
