The incidents of killing for perceived rituals are becoming rampant in the country in recent times, with a section of the public blaming the country’s laws for being lenient on the perpetrators of such heinous acts.
Whiles others are accusing the media, particularly radio and television of being a contributory factor to the development, as they offer their stations as a platform for occultic and ritualistic to propagate their self-acclaimed powers to offering blood money to those who so desire, at the full glare of the authorities that be.
The National Communication Authority (NCA) has also not been left out of the blame, as it has been described as a “toothless bulldog” for failing to bite the bullet by sanctioning or closing down radio and television stations that have derailed from its professional ethics of informing, educating and entertaining the public, but have rather turn to misinforming and miseducating the public.
The development has created divergent opinions among members of the public, with some calling for a death sentence for anyone who is caught in the perpetrating of such heinous acts.

According to both opinion leaders, the situation has become so threatening, putting everyone’s life at stake.
Quoting biblical principles to support their claim that “whoever draws the sword must die by the sword”, they stressed that such people are a threat to society and therefore must be entertained and allowed to live under any circumstance.
Citing the United States of America and other developed nations where democracy and Human Rights thrive, they noted that such people have been eliminated to safeguard society.
