Pass Once Remedial Institute Blends Fun and Learning with Soccer Extravaganza
Pass Once Remedial Institute, a prominent private educational institution, recently organized a thrilling soccer game at the Attram DeVisser Soccer Academy Pitch in Accra.
The event, spearheaded by the Managing Director, David Kottoh, popularly known as Sir David, aimed to provide students with a much-needed break from academic stress and promote the importance of physical education and social interaction.
Speaking at the event, David Kottoh emphasized the need for students to find balance in their lives as they transition from remedial classes back to school.
“We noticed that we’ve put a lot of academic pressure on the students, and before they head back to school, we wanted to organize some games and a small party as a way for them to socialize and relax,” Kottoh explained.
“As they prepare for school, they’ll be facing a hectic time, so this was a perfect opportunity to unwind.”
Kottoh highlighted the importance of blending academics with fun, noting that the government is currently making strides to integrate Physical Education (PE) more thoroughly into the national curriculum.
“The government is working hard to include PE in the school curriculum, and as a private institution, we want to align with that vision.
We offer remedial and vacation classes, but we also want students to understand that education isn’t just about academics; there’s fun and physical development too.”
A Fun Day for the Students
The soccer game brought together students from various backgrounds, who enthusiastically participated in friendly matches.
The event was followed by a small celebration, where students mingled, danced, and enjoyed refreshments. It provided a platform for students to bond outside the classroom and relieve the academic pressures they’ve been facing.
David Kottoh expressed his satisfaction with the turnout and the positive energy at the event. “It was a joy to see the students having fun, interacting, and playing soccer together.
It’s important to show them that success in life is not just about books, but also about teamwork, leadership, and maintaining a healthy lifestyle.”
The Role of Physical Education
Physical Education has often been overlooked in many school curriculums, but events like this highlight its significance.
Kottoh reiterated that his institution is committed to holistic education, ensuring students receive both academic instruction and opportunities to grow socially and physically.
As the students return to their academic pursuits, Pass Once Remedial Institute hopes this event will inspire them to stay active and enjoy the balance between schoolwork and personal well-being.
