Sosu Medical Outreach Program Supports Health Needs Of Constituents

Sosu Free Medical Outreach Program, a pro-poor health and wellness initiative inspired by Hon. Francis Xavier Sosu, the MP for Madina had been held at four electoral areas in the constituency.

The electoral areas that benefited from the 2nd edition of the program were North Legon, Nkwantanang East, Okataban, and Teiman electoral areas.

Residents of the above-mentioned areas were screened for malaria, diabetes, hypertension diseases while others benefited from free eye screening and treatment, provision of free eyeglasses, free blood sugar test, NHIS registration, mental health screening, covid 19 education, and vaccination avenues were also provided during the program.

Over 50 health professionals comprising doctors, nurses, and pharmacists who volunteered their services were deployed for the health intervention program.

Dr. Yennusom Maalug, Head of Health Project, Office of MP for Madina constituency, said residents were screened and treated for malaria, diabetes, hypertension among other pressing diseases.

Other health illnesses that could not be handled by the health professionals on parade, according to him were given referrals to attend hospital.

Hon. Francis Xavier Sosu, the MP for Madina constituency said the health and wellness of the electorates are very important to him hence the health initiative.

Going forward, he explained that, a mobile health van will be procured to take care of the health needs of his constituents.
