Be Careful the Type Of People You Rent Your Rooms To — House owners warned

House owners who rent their rooms to people as tenants have been warned to be careful of the type of people they admit into their houses as tenants, as people who engage in the practice of homosexuality do not live on a different planet, but right within the communities and in homes.

The Kyidomhen of Gomoa Manso, Nana Kojo Arhin III gave the warning in reaction to the public outcry over Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual Transgender, and others.

The bill currently before Parliament noted that it is not easy to identify people who engage in the practice until they are caught, but stressed that house owners can help if they conduct proper background checks of their potential tenants before renting their rooms to them.

According to him, checks such as the work they do, marital status, religious background, and family relations could be of immense help to stop the practice.

He further cautioned house owners to keep keen eyes on their tenants and monitor the kind of people they bring into their rooms, whether same sex, the time they spend, and whether they usually lock themselves up in the room.

He pointed out that if this is done, it will be difficult for such people to engage in the practice.
