Kumasi KO Launches Homecoming Initiative to Develop Business Hub

Kumasi KO

Kumasi KO, a prominent business center in Kumasi that has been operational for over a decade, has launched the KO Homecoming initiative.

The goal of this project is to enhance the business district and foster unity among members both locally and internationally through digitization.

The launch event attracted notable figures, including Prince Charles (also known as Colombia), Nana Akwesi Boadu KO Gyasehene, Nana Yaw Sana II, K. Badu, and other dignitaries.

In an interview during the launch, Bernard Akwesi Kodua, Chairman of the association, highlighted that the center has long been managed by individuals from various districts and tribes without a cohesive system in place. He noted that the center is currently disorganized and lacks leadership to address pressing issues, emphasizing the need for a unified group to improve its standards.

Mr. Kodua outlined several challenges the center has faced, such as inadequate street lighting, security concerns, and limited parking space. “These challenges underscore the need for unity and collaborative problem-solving, as the government alone cannot address all issues,” he said.

He also mentioned that the Assemblyman who was elected had traveled abroad without being sworn in, and he has appealed to the assembly to appoint a replacement promptly.

Kodua commended the Kumasi Metropolitan Assembly (KMA) for its efforts in waste management and urged KO citizens to act as agents of change by maintaining a clean environment.

Bernard Owusu Boateng, Chairman of the program, emphasized the significance of the homecoming initiative in uniting former residents of KO. He stressed that the involvement of KO citizens is crucial for driving development and fostering unity.
