Gold Fields Pays GH¢2.9bn to Government in First Half of 2026 Gold Fields Ghana paid more than GH¢2.9 billion to the Government of Ghana in taxes, royalties, dividends and other statutory obligations during the first half of 2026, showing how the mining company helps feed national revenue and overall economic activity .

The payments, which covered January to June 2026 , included GH¢1.44 billion in corporate taxes , and this was the biggest chunk of the company’s direct input to government revenue.

Gold Fields also transferred GH¢611.8 million in royalties and GH¢375.1 million in dividends to the government. Other statutory payments were made up of GH¢205.9 million in Pay-As-You-Earn (PAYE) taxes, GH¢146.4 million in withholding tax and GH¢133.4 million in withholding VAT , so yeah all those different buckets add up.

These numbers highlight the different ways mining operations feed into public income, from corporate taxation and mineral royalties, right through to taxes tied to workers and other indirect charges.

Gold Fields said the outflows reflected its focus on creating value from its operations and contributing toward Ghana’s social and economic development.

Local Procurement Reaches GH¢4.7bn Apart from the direct payments to government, Gold Fields shared that it also spent a lot on goods and services within Ghana, which supports local firms and suppliers linked to its activities .

During the period , the company recorded GH¢4.7 billion in in-country procurement, showing the value of goods and services obtained locally.

While the more than GH¢2.9 billion paid to government represents its direct fiscal contribution during the first six months of 2026, billions of cedis in local procurement also supported businesses participating in the mining supply chain.

Gold Fields said it remained committed to strengthening local economic participation and ensuring that its operations continued to contribute to Ghana’s development.
